Known for academic excellence, the school was faced with facilities that didn’t measure up to the standards for today’s high schools. A master plan was developed to expand the school by zoning a middle school wing in the renovated original building and a new high school wing with a shared commons that also function as a theater and meeting space. New administrative offices, classrooms and science labs have dramatically enhanced the campus, which even comprises a greenhouse that is actively used in the academic programs. Current work on the campus includes renovation and additions to the freestanding activities building, which has seen little upgrade since its original construction in 1973. The new additions have greatly elevated the campus and have improved traffic flow for students and busses. A new freestanding athletic complex on the Verona campus has increased opportunities for students.
