Additions and Renovations | Independence, KY
With an original building dating from the 1930’s and subsequent additions over many years, the time had come for a total renovation. Our firm developed an overall master plan to allow the additions and renovations to be completed in phases. The goal was to design the facilities so that, when completed, the entire site would flow seamlessly and look cohesive. Dramatic changes brought about an entirely new facility, renovated throughout and introducing a new cafeteria space, theater, science labs and a beautiful library within the location of the original 1937 gym. The theater was designed so that it could be subdivided into lecture halls, to allow for large group assemblies, testing, and so forth, gaining maximum use from the space. Later phases included a new athletic field house, with indoor practice amenities greatly benefiting the teams in winter months. Simon Kenton stands proudly with a new entrance that looks like it was always a part of the original building.
