With the distinction of being the busiest library in the state of Kentucky, the goal was to maintain the intense usage at an entirely new location while expanding each service section for the benefit of patrons. A reading garden with a peaceful sculpture is the heart of the library. The children’s services area features a “child-sized” entry into “Kid Town, KY.” Overhead windows brighten the interior spaces and access is comfortable and inviting, with reading areas dispersed throughout the facility. A clock tower marks the entry and curved metal roofs soften the exterior appearance. A digital sign takes on the style of the arched roofing and offers updates on the library’s programs.
